Rise Together by Austin-based artists Chris Tobar and Celica Ledesma is commissioned through the City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program and celebrates the history, resilience, and community spirit of Colony Park. Integrated into the new Colony Park Pool, the mural reflects the site’s role as a gathering place for recreation, connection, and neighborhood pride. 

Selected through a competitive, juried process, Tobar and Ledesma are known for collaborative, community-centered artwork that blends bold visual storytelling with vibrant color and cultural symbolism. 

Inspired by extensive community engagement, Rise Together incorporates imagery shaped by local youth, families, and residents, including native plants, wildlife, and portraits representing the diversity of Colony Park. Through layered composition, vivid color, and symbolic imagery, the mural reflects unity, abundance, joy, and the collective strength of a community rising together.
